Black History Celebration

BLACK HISTORY CELEBRATION AND DINNER

Dr. Crosby Copeland, Jr. Elementary School proudly celebrated Black History with several outstanding student and staff performances and activities on Thursday, February 24, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.   Ms. Delores Snow and her exceptional team of colleagues conceived, developed and produced an incredible array of student and staff performances to feature the cultural and historical multicultural experiences and contributions.   Over 200 parents, guardians, family members and guests were in attendance and enjoyed a wonderful time and complementary dinner. Several members of the KAPPA ALPHA PSI, INC. Fraternity were also in attendance to support the school.   Notable guests included Reverend Dr. Darrell L. Armstrong, Pastor, Shiloh Baptist, Dr. Jose Rodriguez, and Assistant Superintendent for School Support, and Mr. Edward Bullock, President of the Trenton Literacy Initiative.   We were also fortunate to Mr. Howard Crossland, notable singer and a Trenton retired teacher, who led the Copeland Community, by singing “LIFT EVERY VOICE AND SING”, the Negro National Anthem.   The program concluded with an exciting and thrilling performance as the BLACK PANTHER by Mr. Lorenzo Gonzalez, Parent Liaison.
