Bring Your Parents To School

BRING YOUR PARENTS TO SCHOOL VALENTINE’S DAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2024

On Wednesday, February 14, 2024 the Copeland School Family came together to enjoy a “Bring your parents to school” event on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2024.    Over 150 parents, guardians and family members visited and positively interacted with their children’s teachers and staff members.

They observed first-hand how effective our teachers are in teaching and developing the familial relationships so essential for the meaningful social, emotional and academic growth of our young people.  Lorenzo Gonzalez, Copeland’s energetic and engaging parent liaison, who organized the initiative, stated that he was “thrilled and gratified to witness the outstanding attendance and support of our parents”.

The Copeland School Security team with the Student Safety Patrol proudly demonstrated their leadership and support, by serving as escorts for our families as they went for their class visitations to their children’s classrooms

Valentine’s Day photos with Copeland’s parents and students were appreciated by our families, and arranged and supported by the Copeland Climate and Culture committee members:  Barbara Lewis, Learning Loss Teacher, Janine Butler-Ayers, Learning Loss teacher, Courtney Angeline, ESL teacher, and Johana Cortez, Learning Loss teacher.

Principal Rosenberg stated that it was noteworthy that Copeland’s parents, guardians, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other family members were likewise pleased and proud to hear that their children’s high academic achievement was highlighted and recognized by our Superintendent, James Earle.   There is little doubt that the Copeland School Family’s hard work, collaboration, and commitment to our young people resulted in our school’s exit from “Comprehensive School Support and Improvement Status”.
