Copeland Safety Patrols

Michael D. Rosenberg, Principal, at the COPELAND E.S.  on Monday, December 18, 2023 proudly announced the formation of the Copeland AAA School Safety Patrol.  The AAA Safety Patrol members were sworn in a solemn ceremony in front of the entire school at the Copeland Community Meeting on Monday, December 18, 2023.   The Patrol is comprised of members and are school-sponsored student volunteers chosen by their teachers, who have outstanding attendance, citizenship and academic achievement.  They are respected by the peers, and have the support and encouragement of their parents.  Patrollers direct children, not traffic. As school-age leaders in traffic safety, patrol members teach other students about traffic safety on a peer-to-peer basis. They also serve as models for younger children, who look up to them. School Safety Patrol members:

  • Complete training in traffic safety.
  • Protect students from hazards of crossing roads and highways on their way to and from school.
  • Assist bus drivers in safely transporting students to and from school.
  • Teach fellow students about traffic safety.
  • Serve in other leadership roles under the direction of school official.

Ms. LaToya Wiley, 2nd Grade Teacher, who is presently completing her administrative internship w/Principal Rosenberg at Copeland, proudly serves as their sponsor and supervisor.
