Women's Night at Copeland
Dr. Crosby Copeland Jr. Elementary School hosted a Special Women's History Month Celebration organized by Erica Hundley, first grade teacher, and LaToya Wiley third grade teacher, along with the support of Azhaneet Blackwell, music teacher. The program entitled Empowering Women of all Ages and Celebrating Unsung SHEroes was a two-part experience. The first hour was a Women’s Fair, providing information about several topics and resources to support women's empowerment. We partnered with The Links Incorporated and many other community organizations to present information and materials about Health & Wellness, Self-Care, Financial Literacy, Mental Health, Empowerment through Reading, and many more. Attendees rotated to all the tables, where there were short presentations, demonstrations, and resources.
The second hour of the event was dinner and student performances. Students honored the achievements, resilience, and contributions of important women throughout history to inspire future generations of female leaders. Families, students, and community members attended this educational, empowering, and inspiring event.
