The Links Incorporated at Copeland

     THE LINKS INCORPORATED AT COPELAND

On Friday, December 13, 2024 the LINKS Incorporated with the leadership of Ms. Christi Copeland continued their mentoring of our 2nd and 3rd grade female students at Copeland E.S.  Over twelve (12) of our young female students received several books.  One of the books was title Simon Biles, and they excitedly discussed Simone’s hard work, dedication and commitment to excellence in gymnastics.  Additionally, the students and mentors had small group discussions on the importance of literacy and being a “life-long learner” in general.

Principal Michael D. Rosenberg proudly greeted the LINKS Incorporated members Christy Welborne, Linda Reveille, Nakia White Bar, Jenine Celestine, and Angela Dickerson as they entered the Library as they met our students, who were full of smiles and excitement.  This special program effectively promotes literacy, leadership and career awareness.  It has been a highlight and most effective program to raise the self-esteem and further the potential of our young women.  The students each received a special holiday gift bag from their supportive mentors, role models and advocates.   Mrs. Trisha Ekelburg, ESL teacher, and Ms. LaToya Wiley, Teacher leader, are both notable sponsors of the program.
