FIRST ANNUAL “SUGAR AND SPICE”
TEA CELEBRATION
On Thursday, May 4, 2023, Dr. Crosby Copeland, Jr. E.S. was the site of the FIRST ANNUAL “SUGAR AND SPICE” TEA CELEBRATION. This program was sponsored by President Betty Glenn and supported in great part by Delores Snow, veteran and committed educator.
It proudly featured, honored and celebrated over 25 of our young 2nd and 3rd grade female students, and the women in their lives. Each of these students were beautifully dressed in gowns, and escorted into the gymnasium by four (4) of young 3rd grade male “ambassadors”, who were dapperly dressed in their new royal blue suits. Additionally, male and female professional role models in our city, county and state, individually sponsored each of the young women of Copeland E.S.
Among those in attendance were Trenton Superintendent of School, James Earle, State Senator Shirley K. Turner, School Board Secretary/Business Administrator Jayne Howard, James Rolle, Esq., School Board Attorney, H.R. Executive Director Cherelle Tolor, Talithea Duncan, President, T.E.A., Monica Carmichael, President, T.A.S.A. and several other notable public, business leaders and government employees.
Principal Michael D. Rosenberg indicated that he was particularly grateful and honored to be able to sponsor and support this wonderful program to recognize our young female students and encourage their social, emotional, academic and cultural growth.
