On Friday, February 24, 2023, Principal Michael D. Rosenberg proudly conducted the formal adoption of Dr. Crosby Copeland, Jr. E.S. by the Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc. Fraternity.  The program was introduced by Polmarch Brian Taylor, who brought greetings and welcomed the Kappas who were in attendance to support the children, staff and community of Dr. Copeland.   Shawn Copeland, son of Dr. Copeland, brought greetings and support from the entire Copeland family.   Mr. Edward Bullock, Kappa member and President of the Trenton Literacy Initiative, reviewed the details of the adoption, which included mentoring, STEM activities to support Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.   Signing the document included Polemarch Taylor, Principal Rosenberg, TEA Building Representative Keith Powers, and Student Elizabeth Beauchamps, a 3rd grade student.  Additionally, President Bullock discussed supporting Reading and English/Language programs on the part of the Kappas.   Reverend Dr. Darrell Armstrong, Pastor of Shiloh Baptist, brought greeting from Copeland’s Community of Faith partner, and his support of the KAPPA/COPELAND adoption.   The program concluded with all the students and staff participating in Mr. Howard Crossland’s solemn and moving singing of the Negro National Anthem, “Lift Every Voice”.
