Copeland School Presents: A Night at the Museum


Copeland School’s Black History Program, A Night at the Museum, took the audience on a powerful journey through important moments and contributions in Black history. The program followed students as they explored a museum where exhibits came to life, highlighting stories of perseverance, excellence, and cultural pride.


The evening began with This Little Light of Mine, celebrating the importance of shining one’s light and embracing the talents and potential within every child. The program then honored the legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), recognizing their vital role in educating and empowering generations of leaders.


Another featured exhibit highlighted NASA and the accomplishments of astronaut Ronald McNair, inspiring students to reach for the stars through science, innovation, and determination. The program also paid tribute to local excellence with Trenton Makes, The World Takes, celebrating influential individuals from Trenton who have made a meaningful impact in their community and beyond.


The evening concluded with a moving performance of the Black National Anthem, “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” bringing the program to a powerful and uplifting close while honoring the resilience, achievements, and ongoing legacy of Black history.
